Charles prepared a very complete and thorough survey for the purchase of our boat. We purchased the boat out of state and relied on the survey and visual tour of the boat (46 foot Sea Ray).  We were very comfortable with all the information that was collected for this survey.  Charles was very nice to work with and was able to accommodate our requests.

If the need would ever arise, we would definitely use Charles again and would highly recommend him to others. It was a pleasure working with him.

Buyers say a survey that exposes catastrophic expenses, defects or lemons is the best money they’ve ever spent.. I feel the same way even though my surveyor delivered a care-free report. This was my first sailboat purchase that I needed a survey for. After reviewing other surveyors and reviewing comments from others (brokers, marinas and boaters) I decided to sign up with Ulrick Marine to do the survey… I am glad I did… I found Kyle Ulrick to not only be very professional (which someone would be looking for in a surveyor) but to my surprise Kyle took the time to explain in detail (again my knowledge is very limited) of what issues he found on the boat. He explained and showed me everything in a way that I could understand, to which I say thank you. I found his report very detailed as well and was delivered to me in a timely manner.

If you are looking for a surveyor who is very professional and one who takes the time to work with you and explain things in detail. I have no trouble in recommending Ulrick Marine Surveying…. I will use them again.

Thank you for the excellent and very detailed survey. It has given us good insight into what is going on with this boat. This is going to be a big step up for us and we didn’t know what we didn’t know, but you helped us get a handle on things. It was great to have the quick turnaround with the report. But what helped me the most was the follow up call and helping me sort through some options and get some sage advise.

I would like to take this opportunity to recommend Ulrick Marine. He arrived early morning before we did and started the survey, and went the extra mile to come back and complete it as the weather turned too bad for a same day sea trial.

I have been around a few sailboats and yet Charles found things that I never thought to look for. Along with integrity and honest answers and advice that he discussed in private with me, he also supplied me with a 45 page detailed printable report with photos. Charles did an excellent survey for me that was money well spent. The information will do me well for years to come.

Joanie and I wanted to thank you for the great job you did with the survey of our new sailboat. Just from the initial contact with you in scheduling the survey on short notice and rescheduling when weather made it impossible you have been a pleasure to work with. Being a midwinter purchase made it a tough day to conduct the survey but you moved seamlessly in getting the job done quickly and professionally. We did the survey on January 4th and the weather was not fun but we knew you had some pull upstairs when the sun came out as we departed from the dock for a sea trial.

Your survey report was organized and every point was substantiated by the multitude of pictures you provided to make it very easy to understand. And we got the report the next day so there was no delay in following through with the transaction.

Charles – you are the man and you know your boats. I asked endless questions throughout the day and you knew all the answers through your extensive experience. But most of all I believe that you really enjoy your work and look forward to getting up every day to be around boats.

We met initially in the late eighty’s and we were about 5 slips away from you and your lovely family. We got out of boating for many years and as our kids became adults decided to get in again when we came across your name completely by accident as a surveyor. We have owned and sold several vessels thus far over the years and neither of us had ever had a survey done before and after the experience we had with you and your company we both felt it was well worth every dollar spent. We used Charles Ulrick to survey our 2005 Regal 4260 yacht. Getting the survey scheduled was very easy and Charles was very accommodating with our schedule. We showed up a bit early but Charles was already 30 minutes ahead of us. He was extremely thorough and attentive. As questions would arise, he would explain everything in a manner that made sense and was easy to understand. His report was extremely detailed and easy to read, which made it easier to discuss the issues with the seller. Charles even went so far as to review the extensive maintenance history on the yacht.

This is the second boat we’ve purchased and we had significant concerns based on our first experience with a “less than thorough” surveyor. Fortunately, Charles’ professionalism, attention to detail and after survey support was wonderful and was significant in our decision to purchase. Without hesitation, we would recommend Ulrick Marine.
